Please keep in mind that registration for all youth fall, winter, & spring recreation activities is based on the participant's current year enrollment

2017 BASEBALL ACTIVITIES

*NEW* - MLB Pitch, Hit, & Run Competition - Pitch  Hit and Run is sponsored by Major League Baseball.  This is a national skills program which provides participants, ages 7-14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities.  Pitch, Hit, and Run is intended to encourage youth participation and emphasize the “FUN” element of baseball.  Since there is no registration fee for this program, everyone will have a chance to compete.  Participants will compete in three important aspects of baseball: pitching, hitting & running.  The competition is broken into four different age groups, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14.  Age is determined as of July 17, 2017.  The Pitch Hit and Run local competition will be held at the Indian Mound Baseball Fields on Saturday, April 22 at 9:00AM. Please register online at www.PitchHitRun.com

 

Tee Ball (Pre-School & Kindergarten) - Tee Ball Baseball is for boys and girls 4-5 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. (Preschool participants must have been four years old by 9-1-16. Kindergarten Participants must have been five years old by 9-1-16. In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork.  Games will be scheduled on Thursday evenings, 5:30PM or 7:00PM, June 15th through July 27th. If there are enough registrants there will be a separate boys and girls league.  This is a recreational league with a continuous batting order. Each player receives a t-shirt. Registration deadline: April 30th. 

 

Coach Pitch (1st & 2nd Grade) - Coach Pitch is designed for 1st and 2nd grade participants. (First Grade Participants must have been six years old by 9-1-16. Second Grade Participants must have been seven years old by 9-1-16.) In this league coaches pitch to players. It is a recreational league with a continuous batting order. If there are enough registrants there will be a separate boys and girls league. Games will be scheduled on Tuesday evenings, 5:30PM or 7:00PM, June 13th through July 25th. Each player receives a t-shirt. Registration deadline: April 30th.

 

Grades 3 & 4 Baseball Camp (Only) - Baseball Camp participants will work on skill development. The camp will be held Monday through Thursday, June 5th through June 15th, from 8:30-9:45AM at Indian Mound Middle School. Registration deadline: April 7th.

 

Grades 3 & 4 Baseball Camp & Night League - During the two week camp, participants will work on skill development. The camp will be held June 5th through June 15th,  Monday-Thursday, 8:30-9:45AM at Indian Mound Middle School. Participants will also play in the Night League Program with Cottage Grove and Monona. The Night League games are played on Monday & Wednesday nights, June 5th through July 26th, 5:30 or 7:00PM. Volunteer coaches are needed for the night league. Please indicate your interest to coach while registering. Registration deadline: April 7th.

 

Grades 3 & 4 Night League (Only) - The 3rd & 4th grade Night League will be held June 5th through July 26th, with games on Monday & Wednesday nights, 5:30 or 7:00PM. Games will be played against Monona and Cottage Grove teams. Volunteer coaches are needed - please indicate your willingness to coach while registering. Registration deadline: April 7th.

 

Grades 5 & 6 Baseball Camp (Only) - Baseball Camp participants will work on skill development. The camp will be held June 5th through June 15th Monday through Thursday, from 9:45-11:00AM at Indian Mound Middle School. Registration deadline: April 7th, 2017.

The camp will be held June 5th through June 15th,  Monday-Thursday, from 9:45-11:00AM at Indian Mound Middle School. Participants will also play in the Night League Program with Cottage Grove and Monona. The Night League games are played on Monday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday nights, June 5th through July 27th, 5:30 or 7:00PM. Volunteer coaches are needed for the night league. Please indicate your interest to coach while registering. Registraiton deadline: April 7th.

 

Grades 5 & 6 Night League (Only) - The 5th & 6th grade Night League will be held June 5th through July 27th, with games on Monday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday nights, 5:30 or 7:00PM. Games will be played against Monona and Cottage Grove teams. Volunteer coaches are needed - please indicate your willingness to coach while registering. Registration deadline: April 7th.

 

Grade 7 Baseball - The 7th grade baseball program is designed for current 7th graders. Games are played in the evenings June 1st through July 31st, at 6:00PM. Games are played against surrounding communities: Cottage Grove, DeForest, Jefferson, Stoughton, and Monroe. At least two games are a week are played - exact dates are TBD. A schedule will be sent once teams are determined. Adult volunteers are needed in order to make this program a success. Please indicate your willingness to coach while registering. Participants in 7th grade baseball are also automatically registered for the Advanced Baseball Skills Camp (Grade 7: June 5th-June 22nd, Monday-Thursday, 10:00-11:30AM). Registration deadline: March 15th.

 

Teener 2 Baseball (Grade 8) - Teener 2 Baseball is designed for players currently in 8th Grade.  The Teener 2 baseball program is a competitive program. Games are played in the evenings (dates & times TBD based on the number of players/teams) and teams are coached by volunteer adults. Games are played against surrounding communities: Stoughton, Sun Prairie, Monona, Waunakee, Cottage Grove, Monroe, Oregon and etc. Usually, a minimum of two games per week are played. Games will be scheduled between May 26th and July 31st. Team practices are scheduled to start the first week of April (exact dates/times TBD). An exact schedule will be sent out once teams are determined. Part of the 8th Grade Baseball Program will be an 8th Grade Tournament Team.  The tournament team will consist of players from the 8th Grade program.  The plan is to have the players play in at least four tournaments during the summer.  Players on the tournament team will have an additional cost to play in the tournaments.  In order for the program to be successful, adult volunteers are needed to coach; please indicate your willingness to coach while registering. 8th graders registering for this program are also automatically registered for the Advanced Baseball Skills Camp (Grade 8: June 5th-June 22nd, Monday-Thursday, 11:30AM-1:00PM - Curling Club Baseball Diamond). Registration deadline: March 15th.

 

Teener 1 Baseball (Grade 9) - Teener 1 Baseball is designed for players currently in 9th Grade.  The Teener 1 baseball program is a competitive program. Games are played in the evenings (dates & times TBD based on the number of players/teams) and teams are coached by volunteer adults. Games are played against surrounding communities: Stoughton, Sun Prairie, Monona, Waunakee, Cottage Grove, Monroe, Oregon and etc. Usually, a minimum of two games per week are played. American Legion Baseball (Grades 10 & 11) - American Legion Baseball is designed for players currently in 10th & 11th grades. MRAP, in conjunction with the McFarland American Legion, sponsors the McFalrand Legion Baseball Team. The McFarland American Legion donates money to help sponsor the Legion Baseball team. Costs of the program that are not covered by the Legion are covered through participant fees. McFarland will have one team in the Capital Lakes Summer Baseball League. Games are played against tems from local high schools. Games and practices are scheduled to start the second week of June, and run through July 31st.  Exact schedules will be sent once the team is determined. Registration deadline: March 15th.

 

 

 

 

Winter 2016 Recreation

 

 

MEF Winter Bash - New this year, MRAP will be assisting with the online registration process for the annual McFarland Education Foundation Winter Bash!  Come join us on February 25th, 2017 at 5100 Club for a fun filled evening of music provided by "Plugged In and the Scrap Metal Horns"! There will be lots of auction items, appetizers, and a cash bar. Doors open at 7:00PM with music starting at 8:00PM. The registration fee is $25.00 per person with a credit card processing fee of $1.95 per transaction (only one ticket per person may be bought online). Tickets are $30.00 at the door.
