IMMS, a place to learn, a place to grow. A place where kids come first.
We are continuing to look looking for students who keep their feet, hands, and objects to themselves throughout the school day. We have definitely noticed an improvement this week, but we still have some work to do! At this point, the gap between the grades has narrowed; however, 6th grade is still in the lead, followed by 8th grade and 7th grade. Thank you for keeping our hallways, the cafeteria, recess, and classrooms safe!
7th and 8th Grade Choir Students are going to see "The Cat's Pajama's" TODAY at the High School. Choir students should report to the stage with coats immediately following Core 7.
8th Grade Ski Trip – In recognition of the amazing school year we are having, especially with our outstanding 8th graders, we are excited to announce that all 8th grade students are invited to participate in our first middle school ski trip in 5 years. We are going to Tyrol Basin on Tuesday, 2/28/12. Busses leave IMMS at 3:30 and return at 10:00pm.
Permission slips are available in Prime Time or from the guidance office and MUST be returned by 2/22. Students may bring their own equipment or rent from Tyrol. Come and take advantage of this recognition of all you have done to make this a great first half of the school year!
Please direct further questions to Mr. Kramer.

Hello and welcome to Indian Mound Middle School. Indian Mound Middle School (IMMS) is home to students in grades six, seven, and eight. At Indian Mound Middle School we believe that “Kids Come First.”
The school is organized into interdisciplinary teams of teachers from language arts, reading, math, social studies and science at each grade level. Related arts exploratory offerings include art, technical education, music, communication arts, foreign cultures, and family and consumer education. Elective courses include band, chorus, communication arts, technology, Spanish and French.
Each team (grade 6,7,8, special education, guidance department and related arts) has a representative who serves as the team leader on our Middle School Council (MSC) and runs daily or weekly team meetings. Staff meetings for all building personnel are held bi-monthly, as is MSC.
Co-Curricular offerings at IMMS include both athletics and clubs that focus on participation and involvement. Athletic programs include volleyball (girls), cross country (boys and girls), basketball (boys and girls), and track (boys and girls). Clubs and events held during school hours and/or after school include: drama, forensics, student council, jazz band, dances, adopt-a-grandparent, and village volunteers.
At IMMS we have a strong commitment to parent, staff, and student communication. This is bolstered by the PSC (Parent School Council), which meets monthly. Participation in PSC is an ideal opportunity for parents to become actively involved in our unique middle school.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school at 608-838-8980.
