They are or have been actively involved with service organizations, student activities, and/or academic services. Early in the spring semester, call for nominations is issued to CSB/SJU students, staff, and faculty. In determining the recipients of this award, the Caritas Awards Committee considers the following: Commitment to society through an active participation in student leadership, civic leadership and social leadership? i.e. SJU Senate, Service Learning experience, Current or past activity with service organizations, student activities , and/or academic services? i.e. Club officer/member, team captain, student worker. Calvin Weber is a member of the Morton Rink and his team won the US Trials over this past weekend for the 2011 World University Games. Looks like each individual player is responsible for their airfare to Istanbul, Turkey (from Istanbul to Erzurum airfare and food & lodging in the Athletes Village is all picked up by USA Curling). Since no one goes to Turkey in the winter it looks like a Chicago to Istanbul flight can be purchased for $700 RT, not bad. Anyway pretty exciting news for the team, they recently were measured for clothing by Nike and will receive a lot of free swag for qualifying.
Gurmukh Mangat, an MHS grad, was selected to speak on behalf of the 2009 senior class of UW-Madison at the commencement ceremony. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration (major in finance, investment and banking; additional major in economics).
