8-4-09 School Board Minutes

Minutes of the School Board Retreat Held August 4, 2009 at Crowne Plaza Madison, 4402 East Washington Ave. Madison, Wisconsin.

Meeting called to order by School Board President Arlyn Halvorson at 6:07 p.m.

Present: Arlyn Halvorson, Jim Moeser, Tom Allen, Don Schutt, and Kathy Siegmann

Administrators Present: Scott Brown

Motion by Schutt, second by Moeser for Closed Session under WI Statute 19.85(1)(e) deliberating or negotiating the purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session – administrative review.

Board members discussed the 2008-09 administrative reviews with Scott Brown.

Motion by Schutt, second by Moeser to return to open session at 7:36 p.m.

Superintendent Brown discussed with the Board the past year’s Superintendent-Board communications, Board process and operations, strategic planning and goal setting. A review was also made of the 2008-09 CAREI and WKCE results.

Motion by Schutt, second by Moeser to adjourn. Motion carried and meeting adjourned at 10:17 p.m.
