Hello,
My name is Jean Johansen and I am an 8th-grade Special Education Teacher at Indian Mound Middle School. I completed my licensure in Learning Disabilities from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater over 20 years ago. I also completed the following degrees, licensures, and certifications from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater within the last 15 years: Master’s of Science in Education, Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities licensure, Cross Categorical licensure, Autism Specialist Certificate, and Transition Specialist Certificate.
Prior to teaching, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville with a major in Technical Communication, a minor in Business Administration, and an emphasis in Printing Management.
Through my experiences, I realize that teaching is a profession that requires many hats and I am more than willing to wear those hats to help students reach their goals. It gives me great pleasure to play a memorable role in the growth of many students.
To balance my personal and professional life so that I can be the best teacher, I enjoy gatherings with my family and friends. I enjoy summer vacations with my family, glamping, scrapbooking, walking, reading magazines, listening to books, watching the Green Bay Packers, and cheering on the Wisconsin Badgers.
“The dream begins, most of the time, with a teacher who believes in you, who tugs and pushes, and leads you onto the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called truth.” --Dan Rather
