Each fall, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction issues a District Report Card for our district and for each district in Wisconsin in addition to a School Report Card for each school. All report cards are available online at http://dpi.wi.gov/accountability/report-cards.
Please note that as a result of the April 15, 2020, enactment of the 2019 Wisconsin Act 185, the coronavirus relief package, and the ESEA waiver granted by the Department of Education on March 23, all state and federal academic assessment requirements have officially been suspended or waived for 2019-20 and there will be no state accountability report cards issued during the 2020-21 school year.
Each public school and district earns an overall accountability score, from 0 to 100 based on each district’s 2018-19 performance in the following four priority areas: Student Achievement, Student Growth, Closing Gaps and On-Track and Postsecondary Readiness. Based on these scores, districts and schools are placed into one of five categories, from Fails to Meet Expectations to Significantly Exceeds Expectations.
McFarland School District’s District Report Card score 2018-19 is 78.8 and our rating is “Exceeds Expectations.” Waubesa Intermediate School, Indian Mound Middle School, and McFarland High School school each earned a rating of “Exceeds Expectations” this year as well. Conrad Elvehjem Primary School received a rating of “making satisfactory progress” under alternate accountability, because grades EC-2 do not participate in state testing.
We are confident that these report cards, as well as many other changes being implemented throughout our state, will help our School District continue to identify and celebrate our strengths and effectively address our challenges.
