McFarland Speaks Up
The district is committed to providing a safe, secure, and healthy environment that allows all students to maximize their learning potential. The board of education and school staff consider bullying, harassment, hate speech & harmful language to be detrimental to the health and safety of students and disruptive to the educational process. To help us address these actions we, students and staff, have united around McFarland Speaks Up as our primary tool for bystander interruption.
Community Impact Grant
In 2020, the McFarland School District was awarded a 5-year, 1 million dollar community impact grant from the Wisconsin Partnership Program. The district project focuses on supporting and improving the social-emotional health of African American/Black students enrolled in the district to increase belonging and academic outcomes. The McFarland District is working in collaboration with Natural Circles of Support to achieve the grant goals.

The McFarland School District has adopted the following definition of educational equity: “Educational equity means systems are set up so that every student has access to the resources and educational rigor they need at the right moment in their education, across race, gender, ethnicity, language, ability, sexual orientation, family background, and/or family income.” WI DPI
Diversity - The presence, representation, acceptance, and respect of all differences. |
Equity - Intentionally offering opportunity, access, and other support to individuals based on their unique needs and circumstances, so they can reach their full potential. |
Inclusion - Ongoing, deliberate acts that support the full and authentic participation of all people as welcomed, valued members within a community. |
Belonging - The feeling a person has of connectedness from experiencing full acceptance, genuine appreciation, and respect. Belonging is the measure of successfully incorporating DEI into the fabric of a community. |
