The Youth Apprenticeship Program offers students the opportunity to connect classroom experience to a career based internship under the guidance of industry mentor. Students who participate in the Youth Apprenticeship program benefit from enhanced knowledge of a particular industry with experiential learning to further their knowledge and skills.
The YA program is a three credit program available to students in their junior or senior year. Technical related courses must be aligned to run concurrently with the experience.

An overview of the Youth Apprenticeship Application Process:
- Student application process which includes 3 recommendations—2 from school and 1 from the community
- Student interview
- YA Program Meeting and Family Informational Meetings
- Worksite mentor with paid work experience
- Level 1 (one year program ) is 450 hours and Level 2 (two year program) is 900 hours
- Worksite and coordinator evaluations
- Google Classroom YA Journals and reporting of hours
- Concurrent enrollment in a technical related course every semester of the program
- Completion of the skills checklist with work mentor
It is the responsibility of the student to secure a placement for employment, but placement will need approval from the School to Career Coordinator, Ms. Thompson.
